Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at (631) 493-7557 or email Brad at bradnyfriendshipcircle@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Sourdough bread is naturally fermented using wild yeasts and lactic acid bacteria.  It is a slower process that results in a much more flavorful bread.  Several of our breads do not contain any commercial yeast at all.

Our wheat breads are NOT sour because that isn't the flavor profile that we want in our bread.  Rye and Pumpernickel bread are naturally a bit more sour than wheat bread because of the nature of rye flour fermentation.  If you enjoy rye then you will love these!

Our bread is baked under the strict supervision of Rabbi Yakov Saacks of the Lubavitch Chai Center. Please call or email him with your questions at (631) 351-8672 or rabbi@thechaicenter.com
